Tipp Excel hosts an evening with John Lonergan

The Tipperary Excel Art Centre will host an evening with John Lonergan to re-launch its conferencing facilities at the heart of Tipperary Town on Thursday, April 16th.

The Tipperary Excel Art Centre will host an evening with John Lonergan to re-launch its conferencing facilities at the heart of Tipperary Town on Thursday, April 16th.

John Lonergan, Tipperary native, ex-Governor of Mountjoy Prison and Tipperary Excel Board member will deliver a talk on the importance of community.

John Lonergan will address the importance of community effort and how we can all make a difference by doing something, by reaching out to others, by giving generously of our gifts and time.

He will aim to inspire people to get involved in their community and encourage adults to take a genuine interest in the youth of the area and to do something to make a positive difference, to encourage our youth rather than to criticise them.

On the evening John Lonergan will officially re-launch the Tipperary Excel Art Centre’s Conferencing Facilities in the heart of Tipperary Town.

While the centre previously provided this facility, much of the required conferencing equipment had become outdated. Last year the Tipperary Excel Board made a successful submission to the JP McManus Benevolent Fund seeking funding which would allow the centre to reinvest in equipment needed to offer conferencing facilities again.

After the talk, all who attend will be invited to take a tour of the centre to see first-hand the full suite of conferencing facilities that are available, which can host everything from small meetings, up to medium and large conferences or symposiums to product /event launches.

Commenting on the evening, members of the Tipperary Excel Board said they were delighted to be hosting John Lonergan and overseeing the re-launch of the conference facilities.

Making reference to the successful JP McManus Benevolent Fund submission, Kerry Ryan, Tipperary Excel Chairman said one of the key elements in the proposal was the desire for the centre, in addition to hosting conference facilities for the corporate and business sectors, was to offer affordable rates for the community sector including voluntary groups and non for profit organisations.

The Tipperary Excel Team and Board are looking forward to welcoming all who attend the evening and to showcasing the centre’s conference facilities to both the business and community sector.

This free evening commences at 7pm with a pre talk reception, followed by Talk with John Lonergan at 7.30pm in the Simon Ryan Theatre and concludes with a tour of the conference facilities.
