Last week was a quiet one for the cast and chorus of Calamity Jane with only the men and principals being on duty - the ladies had a week off but have now returned with much gusto as our opening night fast approaches.

The show runs in the Premier Hall from Tuesday March 27th - 31st.

Preparations are being made at present for the show week which is always a great time in Thurles with a fantastic buzz about the Cathedral Town.

Soon, we will be erecting our posters and road signs to tell all the world about our plans and of course our booking office in Hickey’s Pharmacy, Liberty Square, Thurles will also open in plenty of time.

This week, we are calling on all our advertisers and patrons to come on board and lend your support to our efforts. Shows of this nature could not continue without the support of the business community and the general public and we once again thank you for your tremendous loyalty to us through very difficult times.

Never more than now, has your support been appreciated.

Any new sponsors, advertisers or patrons can get involved by contacting our Treasurer Antoin O’Briain, or any member of the committee.

Advertising in the programme is a great way of flagging your business, or getting a message across with 1,500 programmes sold each year to a collective audience of approximately 3,500 people.

Patrons subscriptions of any value will also be greatly appreciated and accepted.

Plans are also underway to engage in colouring and poster competitions in the schools of the parish and surrounding areas and we look forward to working with the schools to help promote musical theatre.

There will be some lovely prizes available as well as tickets to the show for participants. More details later.

Yes, there is a lot going on at the present time as the Deadwood stage approaches - we look forward to the few remaining weeks ahead.
