Electric Picnic tickets may be all sold out for the first time in years, but a select few of north Tipperary’s best community, food and environmental groups, organisations and businesses will be heading to Stradbally this weekend.

These projects will be highlighting what they do in the Global Green area of the Electric Picnic, under the heading ‘Totally Tipperary’.

Curated by Cloughjordan-based environmental NGO Cultivate, the Global Green celebrates community and sustainability, through talks, demonstrations, interactive displays and great Tipperary food.

With support from North Tipperary LEADER Partnership’s Rural Development Programme 2007-2013, Global Green will be showcasing some of the most striking Leader supported community and sustainability orientated projects at the event.

A range of projects, organisations and businesses from Cloughjordan will be in attendance at the Electric Picnic, including Cloughjordan Community farm, the Ecovillage, Django’s hostel and the WeCreate business and innovation centre.

LEADER supported projects at the Global Green from elsewhere in North Tipperary include the Loughmore community owned cafe, Mother Mountain Craft Group, Cabra Wetlands Trust, Ireland XO, Stella FM and the Upperchurch walking festival.

Food includes Eliza Ward’s Country Choice on Tour.
