Cashel European Rural Charter travels to Zagare (Lithuania) on Monday, January 5th 2015 Cashel European Rural Charter will hold an information evening in Spafield Family Resource Center at 5.30pm.
The meeting which will be chaired by Cllr John Crosse (Chairman of Cashel/Tipperary Municipal District). The meeting is open to the public where information will be provided on 2015 annual meeting which takes place in Zagare (Lithuania) from the 16th to the 19th of July. At the meeting we will select 6 adult delegates and 4 youth delegates (age 16-24). The purpose of the annual meeting is when 28 town/villages from 28 european countries all European citizens come together ‘at the kitchen table’ and learn about each others culture, habits, priorities and become friends. The motto of the organization is ‘People Meet People’. In 2011 in Cashel hosted the annual meeting with 280 guests having a wonderful weekend where they were accommodated in over 100 homes in the Cathel Town and surrounding parishes. All actions done in the European Rural Charter is done as voluntary basis. At the information meeting on the 5th of January 2015 we will also discuss the setting up of the Friends of Europe Club. Friends of Europe is where Clubs, associations or schools make long term contacts with similar Clubs and associations in other of 28 countries and build up friendship and possible organise visits or exchanges with individuals all over Europe.
