THE Corrigan Brothers, the band from Puckane who have amassed over ten million youtube hits as well as charting all over the world with their huge international hit ‘There’s no one as Irish as Barack Obama’ and who just last week appeared on coast-to-coast TV in the USA on the msnbc programme Hardball, have turned their attention to Bradford City and will record a song in honour of Bradford’s upcoming Wembley Capital One Cup final.
The song is called ‘There’s no team as Wembley as Bradford City’.
Lead singer Ger Corrigan explained the reason that the brothers decided to write the song: “we love a great sports story and we love a good giant killing and this is the greatest one of them all - beating Wigan, Arsenal and Villa was such a phenomenal and spirited achievement”.
The brothers performed in Bradford before last Sunday’s final and then headed to London to be participate in BBC Radio 5’s live coverage of the final as well as attending the final.
Lead singer Ger Corrigan said: “it is a great occasion and it’s wonderful to be involved.
“We have made some great new friends in Bradford and discovered the importance of the Irish community to the city. It will be wonderful if Bradford can go on and win it,” Ger added.
