Holycross Ballycahill GAA club is preparing to ‘Cut Loose’ for the second time when the gates of St Michael’s GAA field and the famous John Doyle Centre are opened wide to visitors for the Holycross Country Music Festival.

The hard working committee led by Deputy Michael Lowry and club Chairman Tom Dwyer have learned a lot from their first experience of such an event held this time last year, and they are promising a bigger and better than ever event for the 2013 offering.

Patrons of the festival were amazed at the brilliantly organised arrangements last year with plenty of food, drink, dance floors and some of the best acts in the business giving it their all on the wonderful stage. And, they all vowed that such was the experience, they would be back again to dance the evening away with family and friends.

Well, the time has come again and all and sundry are invited to take your place amongst the stars on Sunday, 21st July, when the Premier County will play host to Ireland’s most popular Country & Irish acts as they present an incredible day of outdoor entertainment.

Scores of volunteers drawn from the parish and further afield are once again preparing the facilities to ensure the maximum in comfort for patrons. And, the many club members have been roped in to help out with the demands of staging such a huge event.

Featuring some of the biggest Country & Irish stars in the business, including Jimmy Buckley, Mike Denver, Louise Morrissey, Paddy O’Brien, Patrick Feeney, and Declan Nerney, this unique event promises fans of country music and dancing first-class entertainment at exceptional value.

Gates open at 12 noon and non-stop entertainment will be provided by this stellar line-up of legends throughout the day. A large dance-floor will facilitate those that wish to dance to the performances and concert-goers will enjoy easy access to and from the festival venue, in addition to a host of hospitality facilities that includes a wide variety of food stalls, full alcohol licence, and ample parking on-site.

Tickets, priced at just €20.00, are available at local outlets which are displayed on the website.

So, get those dancing shoes on and mark a date in your diaries to ‘Cut Loose’ at the festival highlight of the summer as Holycross goes Country this July!
