Beautiful young women from all over the county will gather at Dundrum House Hotel & Country Club tonight (Wednesday, April 3) to compete for the title of Miss Tipperary.
The winner of the beauty contest will go on to represent the county in the Miss Ireland final in Dublin in June.
Glamorous Miss Tipperary hopefuls attended the launch of the contest at Dundrum House on March 22.
While some of the contestants will be travelling from as far as Limerick, Cork and Dublin to compete for the Miss Tipperary crown all have a connection to the county.
Former Miss Tipperary Esme Mansergh-Wallace is organising the competition. She said some of the finalists have modelling experience but many are newcomers and will receive training before the final on how to carry themselves on the catwalk.
The Miss Tipperary contestants will be interviewed by the competition’s judges at Dundrum House today and will be interviewed again on stage at the final tonight by the compere, the 2012 Limerick Rose, Suzanne O’Brien.
The four Miss Tipperary judges are: Kellie McGrath, the 2011 Miss Limerick Universe; Esther Wood, the 2011 Miss Clare; model Gary Talbot, runner up in the Mr Sunday World competition and Audrey McGrath, a model with the Celia Holman-Lee Model Agency.
As well as qualifying to compete in the Miss Ireland final, the new Miss Tipperary title holder along with the second and third runner-up finalists will be presented with prizes sponsored by a number of local pharmacies and beauty salons.
Esme Mansergh-Wallace said the Miss Tipperary final kicks off at 8pm and is open to the public to attend. Tickets cost E10 and will be available at the door.
