Roscrea Country Market Ltd celebrated 50 years trading on Friday in the Abbey Hall.

It was a great celebration, meeting past members, customers past and present and special guests. The guests included Mr Tom Hayes Junior Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mr Alan Kelly Minister for the Environment, Mr Noel Coonan TD, Mr James

McCrudden Chairman Country Market Ltd, Mrs Josephine Lynch Regional Representative, Mrs Margaret Sweeney outgoing Chairperson, Fr Tom Corbett, Rev Jane Galbraith, Mr John Lupton Chairperson RCDC, representative from Nenagh Country Market and a “Life long customer”. Patricia Drought welcomed everybody, spoke about the market and introduced the guests. All the guest speakers publicly encouraged Roscrea Country Market to keep going, as after half a century the initiative is part and parcel of the local community. New members and new customers are always welcome. Refreshments were served. Tom Hayes and Josephine Lynch cut the birthday cake.
