The Tipperary Bealtaine Festival presents The Way Home, an exhibition of works drawn from The Crawford Art Gallery Collection (Cork) and presented in collaboration with North & South Tipperary County Council Art’s Services, Tipperary Libraries and The Source Arts Centre in Thurles.
The Way Home exhibition takes place in The Source Arts Centre’s library exhibition space from Saturday, April 6th until Saturday, May 11th.
The title of the exhibition is taken from a painting by Daniel O’Neill and works in the exhibition include landscapes, seascapes and scenes from Irish life and resonate a theme of people and place.
Artists featured in the exhibition include: Daniel O’Neill, Norah McGuinness, Camile Souter, Barrie Cooke and Gerard Dillon to name but a few.
These are important works in the history of Irish Art and will appeal to a general audience, artists, students of art and the history of art and anyone with an interest in Irish painting and heritage.
Background information and educational material will be provided to visitors to the exhibition.
Art historian Dr. Peter Jordan will present a lecture highlighting works from the exhibition on Wednesday, May 8th at 6.30pm and admission is free.
