Sitting Cahir councillors are in a strong position for re-election to Tipperary County Council

Four sitting councillors in Cahir are in a strong position to retain their seats

The four sitting councillors in the Cahir Electoral Area are in a strong position to retain their seats on Tipperary County Council.

Councillors Máirín McGrath, Andy Moloney, Marie Murphy, and Micheál Anglim are well placed according to the tallies available for the Local Elections Local Elections in Cahir.

According to the tallies Cllr Máirín McGrath received 2,072 votes, Cllr Andy Moloney received 1,758 votes, Cllr Marie Murphy received 1,133 votes and Cllr Micheál Anglim received 897.

Tom Hennessy (Non-Party) on 410  votes in the tallies, which represents 6% of the vote, is the closest threat.

"The tallies in the Cahir area won't be far out. The figures we have now will be very close to the official first-preference vote," said a veteran tallyman of forty years standing.
