Munster champions: The Scoil Mhuire Junior camogie team that won the Munster Colleges Junior B Camogie Championship title last Saturday
Scoil Mhuire Secondary School's Junior Camogie team are Munster champions after defeating St Mary's of Midleton in the Munster Colleges Junior B Camogie final last Saturday.
The Carrick-on-Suir secondary school team, jointly captained by Emily Cooney and Katelyn Phelan, comprehensively beat St Mary’s 3-08 to 0-04 in the final played at Fr O'Neill’s GAA Club at Ladysbridge in east Cork.
Goal scorers were Sarah Connolly, Emily Cooney and Clodagh Power.
The team’s trainers were Mr Pat Tobin and Mr Tom Dineen, supported by mentor Emma O’Shea of Transition Year.
The team were supported on the day by a bus load of supporters along with parents, teachers and friends.
Scoil Mhuire’s Junior Camogie team now progress to the All-Ireland semi-final. Their opponents will be St. Raphael’s College, Loughrea. The date and time of the match has yet to be confirmed.
