St Molleran’s GAA Club congratulates club player Gearóid O’Shea from Carrickbeg and his Waterford Minor Hurling teammates on their fantastic All-Ireland title win in Semple Stadium last Saturday.
It was a special weekend for St Molleran’s Club but for Gearóid and his family it was a dream come true. Gearóid is son of Jerome and Martha O'Shea.
St Molleran’s GAA Club said much credit must go to Waterford Minor Hurling team manager James O’Connor who had the team in top condition for the final.

St Molleran’s Club PRO Adam Hunt said all club members were delighted with the All-Ireland final victory for Waterford and the role Gearóid played in achieving the title.
“These days are very special for clubs like ours, small clubs that keep the GAA going. It’s unbelievable to see it and be involved in the club during a time like this," he told The Nationalist.
“I’d like to thank everyone who played a part in the last couple of weeks and months around Carrickbeg, from those who put up flags and bunting and those who sent well wishes for Gearóid to our brilliant coaches and players who support the club day in, day out.
“I suppose most of all the people of the parish who embraced the special occasion and travelled the length and breadth of the country to see the games.
“It was emotional in Semple Stadium last Saturday evening, seeing all our Mini Molleran’s players gathered around Gearóid and the Minor team boys.
“It kind of brought it full circle. What I mean by that is every boy and girl has to start learning somewhere, a few years ago that was Gearóid. Without the grassroots of clubs, we wouldn’t have days like this. It’s a big lift for Carrickbeg,” Mr Hunt added.
In other St Molleran’s GAA Club news, the Junior hurlers have commenced their championship. While the team lost their first match against Mount Sion by 2-18 to 1-16, the game showed a lot of positives and will stand to the team for their second round match against Passage East next Sunday.
The Intermediates will play Dunhill in the first round of their championship in Kill on Friday at 7.30pm.
