Former GAA President Aogán Ó’Fearghail made a whistle-stop tour of Carrick-on-Suir's three GAA Clubs with his wife Frances last Friday, October 12.
The Ó’Fearghails visited the statue of GAA founder Maurice Davin with members of Carrick Davins GAA Club when he called to the Club. They also visited the Carrick sporting legend's grave at Churchtown Cemetery.
They checked out Carrick Swan GAA Club's new playing grounds site at Ballyrichard Road with senior Club members. And across the River Suir they met with St Molleran's GAA Club representatives at the Club's grounds at Coolnamuck.
Accompanying the Ó’Fearghails on their tour of the town's GAA clubs were former Tipperary GAA County Chairman Sean Nugent and Tipperary GAA County Board Central Council member Michael Bourke.
Mr Ó’Fearghail's three-year term as GAA President ended earlier this year.
