Ó Riada Night will be held in Cashel on Thursday, 21st March
Brú Ború will have a special Ó Riada Night on Thursday, 21st March, at 8pm. Peadar Ó Riada, who lives in the Cúil Aodha Gaeltacht, son of the renowned Seán Ó Riada, will give a talk on the legacy of his father. This will be illustrated with songs, music and stories.
Peadar will be accompanied by the nationally-acclaimed singer Seán Ó Sé who came to prominence with Seán Ó Riada. He is a regular performer at Brú Ború.
Peadar Ó Riada is an authority on the cultural traditions of Ireland. He is a distinguished and much-admired performer and broadcaster. He is the leader of the Cór Chúil Aodha He has a personable style and has always a warm rapport with his audience. He was Ard-Ollamh at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022.
The Ó Riada night will appeal to young and old alike. Peadar and Seán Ó Sé are sure of a céad míle fáilte in Cashel where there is a strong Comhaltas presence.
The event is part of the Comhaltas Prospectus 2030 roll out which was initiated with the Blackwater Céílí Band in recent weeks.
