Faye Dowling, teacher Ying Liu and James Doyle fly to Shanghai on Thursday March 22nd after winning a two week scholarship to study in Shanghai University
Two Rockwell College students will fly the flag for Tipperary in Shanghai University this week after winning a scholarship to study Chinese Language and Culture.
Faye Dowling and James Doyle, along with their teacher teacher Ying Liu, depart for the bright lights of China on Thursday March 22nd where they will join 90 other students from around Ireland to take part in the two week prestigious study programme.
James and Faye beat 70 other students in Rockwell College to claim their prize in a Chinese Language and Culture exam. Their days will consist of studying Chinese literature in the morning, taking part in cultural activities, such as caligraphy and martial arts, in the afternoon. There will be plenty of sight seeing in Shanghai while they will get to visit the city of Hang Zsou as part of a day trip and also undertaking a cruise on the Yellow River.
