The dedicated team of committee members and volunteers involved every year for decades is gearing up for another Daffodil Day success in Clonmel.

Daffodil Day in Clonmel was launched recently at the Place4U centre by the Mayor of Clonmel, Cllr Pat English.
Daffodil Day in Clonmel will be held on Friday, March 20.

“We will have our usual collection at tables all over the town, no matter what the weather is,” said committee member Frances Delahunty.

She said the money raised for the Irish Cancer Society comes back into the area for crucial local services such as night nurses and a volunteer driving service bringing people to appointments for cancer care.

Frances said the committee organising the event were fortunate that the same volunteers came out every year to sit at tables all over the town to raise funds for Daffodil Day.

“We have a fantastic team and without them we would not be able to raise the funds every year to ensure people who need these crucial services and support will continue to get them,” she said.

Frances praised the people of Clonmel and surrounding area for continuing to support the Daffodil Day appeal every year.

“We get wonderful support from the people of Clonmel who are incredibly generous every year,” she said.

Frances also praised business owers and companies in the town who raised funds for the cause by selling the Daffodil Day merchandise to their staff and customers ever year.
