The funeral of fourteen year old Elisha Gault will take place later this week following the recovery of her body from the River Suir on Sunday night.

The Carrick-on-Suir teenager was last seen on St. Patrick's night, March 17, on Dillon Bridge in the town. Hundreds of volunteers supported the massive search operation for the Comeragh College student including the gardaí, civil defence, the Coast Guard, Carrick River Rescue, Waterford Marine Search and Rescue, Nenagh Search and Rescue and Mallow Search and Rescue.

The body of the missing teenager was recovered from the River Suir on Sunday evening.

In a heartbreaking post on social media, Elisha's mother Grainne Gault paid tribute to her "beautiful, funny, intelligent" daughter, thanking everyone who had helped in the massive search operation for her child.

A book of condolences in memory of the teenager has opened at the Edge YDP youth resource centre on New Street in Carrick on Suir.

Funeral details: Reposing at her residence on Wednesday from 12 noon all day. Removal from her residence on Thursday morning at 10am to the Church of the Assumption, Piltown for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Family Flowers Only.

Donations, if desired, to Carrick-on-Suir River Rescue and the Edge Youth Centre.
