Thurles mourns the loss of two prominent residents.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for both 

The deaths have been announced for two prominent Thurles residents - former Thurles Credit Union Manager John Mullen, and well known and very popular local lady Teresa Berry ( nee O'Brien)

John, who was the driving force behind Thurles Credit Union for many years, passed away after a short illness in the wonderful care of the staff of the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles. Predeceased by his wife Anna, his passing is deeply regretted by his loving family, son Peter and daughter Deirdre, grandchildren Georgia, Lauren and Sorcha, sister Anne (Courtney, Kells), daughter-in-law Jessica, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law John (Bourke) and Eamon (Courtney), cousins, former colleagues in Thurles Credit Union and Irish Army, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in Ardeen Nursing Home, Abbey Road, Thurles on Friday, 28th September, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Arriving at Bothar na Naomh Church at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday, 29th September, at 10am. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Thurles.

Teresa, of Castle Park, Thurles, was, in times past, heavily involved in the Girl Guides and Thurles Musical Society. She is deeply regretted by her loving family; husband Cyril, son Cyril, daughters Deborah and Serena, grandchildren Calum, Aaron and Adam, sister Marie (O'Dwyer), brother Jim, daughter-in-law Karen, sons in law Declan and Jason, nephews, nieces, brother-in-law Dick, sister-in-law Margaret, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Teresa will lie in repose at her residence on Saturday, 29th September, from 4pm to 7pm. Her remains will arrive at Bothar na Naomh Church on Sunday, 30th September, at 10.45am for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Thurles. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
