The club championship will now commence two weeks later than initially planned, allowing full focus on the county team’s preparations and supporters to rally behind the Blue and Gold.
According to the updated fixture document released by the County Board, Round 1 of the County Senior, Premier Intermediate, and Intermediate Hurling Championships is now set to begin on the weekend of August 10th (W/E 10th). This marks a two-week delay from the original kickoff, which was penciled in for late July.
The updated schedule includes:
Round 1: W/E August 10th
Round 2: W/E August 24th
Round 3: W/E September 7th
Preliminary Quarter-Finals: W/E September 21st
Football championship rounds are also slotted in between hurling rounds, while the divisional championships will now be played the weekend of July 27th. The North and Mid divisions have three rounds to be played, so they will be required to play in the space of 10 days.
The county hurling finals are fixed for October 26th, and the delay is possible as Tipperary's champions have been given a bye by Munster GAA to allow for time to play off the championships.
