St Molleran’s GAA Club’s agm will take place in Carrickbeg Community Centre on Sunday, January 20 at 2.30pm.
Nomination forms will be sent to members in the next couple of days and must be returned to the committee by Sunday, January 13.
They will not be accepted after this date. This is the Club’s most important meeting of the year so all members are requested to attend and put some thought into their motions and nominations. This will be the forum for members to air their views on the Club.
The Club hosted a very successful music night that was enjoyed by a large crowd in The Carraig Hotel on New Year’s Eve.
The Club thanks Sean Reade, Paul Keane and Paul Norris of The Carraig Hotel for organising the event and Paddy Finucane, who did an outstanding job as Master of Ceremonies.
Awards were presented by Johnny O’Brien at the function to the Club’s outstanding players and volunteers over the past year.
Pa Hogan received the Hurler of the Year award; Tony Reade was presented with the Footballer of the Year Award; Johnny McGrath was presented with the Junior Hurler of the Year Award and Mark Torpey received the Player of the Past award.
Paddy Moore was honoured as the Club’s Person of the Year.
A presentation was also made to Johnny O’Brien to mark his retirement as East Waterford GAA Board Chairman.
St Molleran’s GAA Club congratulates the organisers of the Maurice Davin Awards in The Carraig Hotel on December 27.
The Club congratulates all the award winners, especially Michael ‘Gilly’ Gilman, who received the St Molleran’s Hurler of the Past Award.
It was a just reward for a man, who gave many decades service to the club.
Meanwhile, the Club thanks all who supported and volunteered at its weekly bingo sessions last year.
Underage players will resume training shortly in preparation for the upcoming season. All parents will be notified of the training schedule in the coming weeks.
The Club says bon voyage to all the local exiles, who have returned to their adopted countries after the festive break.
And it extends sincere sympathy to the Walsh family of Mount Sion, Hahessy and Power families on their recent bereavements.
