St Mary’s Hurling Club, Clonmel
Well done to three of our U/14 panel who were selected to represent the South divisional team last weekend in the Peader Cummins tournament.
Although the team had no luck, the boys put up a good show in a team managed by our own Jimmy Ryan.
Under 12s
Well done to the U/12s who beat a good Mullinahone team in a challenge match at the weekend. Well done to all involved.
Under 10s
Some of our U/10’s took part in a tournament in Ballyduff last Saturday. With 28 teams competing for a place in the finals next Saturday, there was very stiff competition. After losing their first match by just a single point, the lads came back strongly winning their next two matches. Unfortunately when all the results were tallied we didn’t make it to the finals. Well done to all the boys who travelled and participated, and many thanks to all parents and drivers who helped on the day.
Under 8s
We sent three U/8 teams to take part in a blitz in Thurles last weekend and all three teams won their respective games. This augurs very well for our under age programme and is a crecdit to players, coaches, mentors and all those that help out in any way. Well done to all.
5 to 8 Years
We are still trying to encourage as many young children as possible, boys and girls, to take up hurling and camogie. If you having a budding star whose light has still to shine, on the playing field at least, why not bring them along on Saturday morning to the GAA Centre on the Western Road. You and your child will get a warm welcome, and if really interested, we can subsidise hurleys and helmets for you. Come along and enjoy!
Juvenile Training
Training times for the younger players are as follows:
Under 6: 10 am – 11 am
Under 8: 10 am – 11.30 am
Under 10: 10 am – 11.30 am
Club Jerseys
The jerseys are nearly all gone. There are a few left that would suit 14 to 16 year olds. If interested contact John Carew.
