Plenty of action on the club front

Last week was another busy one on the club championship front. One county final, two quarter-finals, one semi-final and one playoff game were completed which leaves just six game left to play in adult competition.

Junior B quarter-finals

Mullinahone had a very easy win over a very disappointing Ballyporeen in Monroe on Monday September 10. Ballyporeen winners of the C championship last year had some very good wins in the league section and were expected to give a good account of themselves in this game. Mullinahone beaten in the B semi-final last year have now qualified to meet Boherlahan in this year’s semi-final. Our thanks to Pat O’Connor for looking after us for the three games in Monroe and to Keith Delahunty and Jean O’Connor for refereeing the B quarter finals. On Saturday last Clonmel Commercials defeated Fethard in and now face Moyne Templetouhy in the second semi-final.

Junior D final

A much stronger Moyle Rovers B team defeated St Patricks in the D final. Thanks to Derry Peters for refereeing. Tommy Campbell, Co. Chairman congratulated Moyle Rovers on their win and thanked St. Patricks for their contribution to the competition.

Junior D plate semi-final

Lattin–Cullen turned the tables on Cahir B on a score line of 2-10 to 2-5 in Solohead on Sunday last. They now meet St Ailbes, Emly in the final. Thanks to Tommy Fitzgerald and the Solohead club for the use of their excellent facilities. Michael Duffy was an excellent ref for the game.

Junior C plate play off

Cappawhite B defeated Sliabh Na mBan to qualify to meet Killenaule the C plate final.

Munster Junior Championship

Ardfinnan were defeated by Cork champions Boherbue in the first round of the Munster championship. Unfortunately Ardfinnan goalkeeper Barbara Moran suffered a serious leg injury early in the game which upset her team mates. We wish Barbara a speedy recovery.
