Two West Tipperary championships get underway this weekend when the McGrath Oil under-21 A & B football championships commence.
There are four teams in the A championship and all four take the field at 12.00 on Sunday.
Golden Kilfeacle take on Cashel King Cormacs at New Inn with David Grogan the referee in charge.
The second game at Bansha will be between Aherlow/Lattin-Cullen and Arravale Rovers with Sean Bradshaw in charge.
Following the league stage of the competition the top team will qualify for the final while the second and third teams
will play a semi-final.
There are five teams in the B championship and two of these will be in action on Saturday evening and the remaining two on Sunday.
In the first game Rockwell/Rosegreen play Eire Óg at New Inn on Saturday evening at 20.00 with Richard O’Connor in charge.
Galtee Rovers play Kickhams in Bansha at noon on Sunday with Fergal Hickey the referee.
The fifth team in the competition are Sean Treacy’s, who have a bye in the first round.
A board meeting will take place in the clubrooms, Annacarty this Wednesday evening at 9 o’clock. The main business of the meeting will be completing the draws that had to be postponed at the adjourned meeting.
One of these was the intermediate hurling championship in which a new team, Lattin Gaels, wished to affiliate.
The county board sanctioned this at a recent meeting with the result that Aherlow and Lattin-Cullen are now amalgamated as Lattin Gaels in intermediate and junior hurling and as Aherlow Gaels in senior and junior football.
Another request, from Clonoulty-Rossmore and Kickhams clubs to affiliate in intermediate rather than junior A hurling
was turned down. It means there will be three teams in the junior A hurling championship
