Marlfield GAA Club club members are greatly heartened by the huge support already shown for the forthcoming BABY LEE BENEFIT QUIZ.
The event goes ahead on Thursday night of next week, January 30 in the Arch Bar Irishtown at 9pm. We are getting a great reaction to our appeal for sponsorship as well as constant enquiries from the general public and from the sporting fraternity, all offering to help in any way possible. We would gladly accept any support, in any form, for this most worthy cause.
We are still accepting team entries but we also welcome queries from individuals who may be keen to form a team with others. All offers of interest should be directed to club chairman Philip Phelan at 086-1763081. The quiz master on the night will be our own club referee Noel Cosgrave. It promises to be a great night’s entertainment.
Baby Lee, just nine months old and younger brother of Cian, is son of club hurler Ian Mullins and his partner Sarah O’Donnell. The family live in Marlfield village.
The Adjourned AGM will take place this Monday night, January 27 in the GAA Centre, Western Rd at 8pm. It was great to see so many old faces returning at the recent main session of the AGM and it’s hoped to have an even bigger turn out at the adjourned meeting, especially as it’s planned to allow for a lengthy and in-depth discussion on club development, possibly covering such topics as recruitment, extra fundraising, possible return to the juvenile scene, improvement of grounds and facilities etc. Beidh failte roimh gach aon duine.
