Last Tuesday night, the Poppyfield was a hive of activity with the U8 & U 10 girls playing challenge matches against Kilsheelan. On a glorious night, 3 matches were played, one at U8 and two at U10 level. A total of 35 girls togged out for both teams and with a great attendance of parents and supporters a wonderful night was had.

Congratulations to Gerry Burke, Sandra O’Callaghan, Georgina Crean, Paddy Bond, Pat Concannon and Eileen Cooney for helping getting the girls to this stage. Our thanks to the Kilsheelan Club for providing the opposition

U14 Boys

Following on from their great win in the Peil, the U 14 A team were in action in the South Championship against Moyle Rovers on Thursday night and won comprehensively on a scoreline of 7-8 to 1-5. A good overall team performance and the team management were extremely satisfied with the levels of consistency and effort.

The B team received a walk over from Moyle Rovers so were awarded the two points.

Guess the Score

The ladies club are now selling “Guess the Score” cards for the hurling championship semi-final match between Tipperary and Limerick which is on the 9th June, 2013. A line costs €2 euro and the proceeds are to pay for the registration of each girl at a fee of €42.00. All support will be appreciated.

Co Board Draw

The County Bórd draw for 2013 is now on sale.  The club benefits to the tune of €50.00 for each draw member, that joins with the club.  We would like to thank those who have been in the draw with the club to date, and would encourage all club members to join with Clonmel Commercials for the coming year. 

This is a superb way to show your support for the club and be in with a chance of winning one of many superb prizes including one of the star prizes of a family car that is on offer each month.

The club wishes to extend its sympathies to John Cunningham on the death of his brother Mark, who died on the 30th April in Orange County, California. He was 47 years old and died after a long illness to the great sadness of his family. John played senior and intermediate football for several years for Commercials. Mark was also a 1st cousin of John Hynes and our sympathies go to John and his family.
