Tipperary’s Benny Dunne has retired from inter-county hurling. The Toomevara man won an All Ireland medal when coming on as a sub against Kilkenny and scoring a crucial point in the 2010 final
In a statement, Tipperary County Board said Benny had served the county with great skill, honour and commitment.
“ As a panel member for 10 years, during which time he also served as team captain for two years, he has always shown huge determination to bring success to Tipperary. He is held in very high regard by his fellow players, by team management and all associated with Tipperary hurling. He never sought the limelight but worked quietly in the best interests of the team at all times. He will be missed very much. We thank him for his dedicated service and wish him and Elaine well for the future”.
