Our Lady’s College Templemore 2-16

Abbey CBS Tipperary 1-9

Abbey CBS lost to Our Lady’s College, Templemore in an all-Tipperary Munster Colleges ‘B’ senior football fianl at Cashel.

Templemore showed the upper hand early with good play.

A 26th minute penalty was awarded to Abbey C.B.S. which David Finnane coolly converted and that helped the Tipp town side a one point lead going into the dressing rooms at half time.

But from the blow of the whistle to start the second half the Abbey lost their shape and Templemore found their rhythm following a penalty which Sean Patrick Guerins also slotted into the net.

Templemore from then on held a strong advantage which showed in the scores.

Abbey C.B.S centre back Ed O’Meara was shown a red card for rough play following an earlier yellow shown by referee Brian Tyrell.

From then on Templemore dominated the proceedings which led to their first win in a possible football/hurling double with a Harty Cup final a week away.
