Half the County Final Pairing Decided

Loughmore Castleiney must wait for another week before finding out who they will meet in the Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Hurling final following the draw between Nenagh Eire Og and Kildangan on Sunday last.

The Loughmore lads defeated Borris-Ileigh to return to the big day for the first time since their 2007 victory - a season that yielded provincial honours as well. But, the second semi-final - a six goal thriller - ended in stalemate after Kildangan rallied from eight down to draw level in a dramatic climax. It now means that if they were to win the replay their clash with Loughmore Castleiney will be their fifth big game in as many weekends - tough stuff.

Of course Nenagh Eire Og will have something to say about that and they will be hoping to set up a third weekend on the trot, and their fourth in five weeks, by defeating Kildangan in what will be a really interesting replay in Semple Stadium next weekend.

Nenagh Eire Og’s last appearance in the final was in 2006 when they fell to Toomevara while Kildangan have to go back to 1934 when they fell to a Phil Purcell led Moycarkey Borris with Paddy Sweeper Ryan playing a key role in the victory. See fixtures for details
