AIB Munster Club Senior Football Championship SF

Commiserations to Loughmore-Castleiney who were beaten last Saturday by current Munster champions Dr Crokes in the Munster senior football club championship semi-final in Killarney. The final score was Dr Crokes  3-16 Loughmore-Castleiney 1-5. Loughmore can take a well deserved rest now after what has been a tremendous and historic year for the club.

AIB Munster Club Junior Football Championship QF

Hard luck to Drom & Inch junior footballers who were beaten by Feohanagh-Castlemahon (Limerick) by one point in the AIB Munster club football championship quarter-final last Saturday. Drom put in a tremendous performance and were unfortunate to lose out by 2-10 to 3-6.

Clean Ireland Recycling Junior B Hurling Final

Holycross-Ballycahill and Templederry Kenyons will have to do it all over again after drawing last Saturday in the Clean Ireland Recycling county Junior B hurling final at the Ragg. The final score was 0-12 each. We wish Holycross the very best of luck in the replay.

Horse and Jockey KIA U21 BHurling Semi-Final

The U21 Bhurling semi-final took place in Castleiney last Saturday between Moyne-Templetuohy Og and JK Bracken’s. Moyne–Templetuohy Og had a convincing win - 1-15 to 1-6.

Clean Ireland Recycling County Junior B Football Championship

Hard luck to Moycarkey-Borris who were beaten by Rockwell Rovers (0-9 to 0-6) in the county Junior B football championship semi-final in Boherlahan last Saturday.

Sean Gael Awards

This year’s Sean Gael Awards took place in the Dome last Sunday. Micheal Ó Muircheartaigh presented the awards to the thirty-two recipients who are all over 70 years of age in recognition for their lifetime of service to the GAA. The eight recipients from the Mid were: Teresa McGrath (Loughmore–Castleiney), Mick Carroll (Durlas Og), Liam Quinn (Hoycross-Ballycahill), Tony Wall (Thurles Sarsfields), Niall O’Dea (Thurles Crokes & Templemore Eire Og), Thady Maher (Clonmore & JK Bracken’s), Liam Hennessey (Moycarkey-Borris), Tommy Ryan (Upperchurch-Drombane). We congratulate them and thank them for the distinguished and dedicated service they have given to the GAA over many years.

Mid Tipperary GAA Primary School Quiz

It is that time of the year again when the local primary school children will display their GAA knowledge. Next Sunday evening in Young’s The Ragg the Mid Tipperary GAA Primary School Quiz will be held at 7.30pm. We wish all the participants the very best on the night and we encourage family and friends to come along and support your local school.

The Mid final of Scor na nOg will be held on Friday November 29th.

Pieta House “Mind Your Buddy”

Pieta House, in conjunction with Tipperary GAA, have organised two information nights - November 20th from 7.15pm to 8.15pm at The McAuley Community Centre, Templemore and the following night on November 21st from 7.15pm to 8.15pm a similar event takes place in the The Moycarkey Community Centre. The meetings will inform attendees about the “Mind your Buddy” programme designed to assist suicide prevention. A training course will follow on November 30th. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Stakelum family on the passing of John Stakelum, Castle Avenue & Holycross. John gave outstanding service to Holycross-Ballycahill GAA club and played a key role in the club’s county finals wins in 1948, 1951 & 1954. We also offer our deepest condolences to the Maher family, Ballycurrane, Thurles on the death of Alan. The late Alan’s uncle Martin Maher has given and continues to give outstanding and dedicated service to the Mid & County Tipperary GAA Boards. May they Rest in Peace.
