It seemed almost inevitable that Tipperary’s hurling season would come to a close in Nowlan Park, and on Saturday evening next that’s exactly what will happen - barring a draw of course - when the intermediates take on the Cats in the All-Ireland Final.
Yes, Tipperary are travelling across the border with high hopes of retaining the crown - quite an achievement considering that the entire squad is a new one from last year. There is optimism in the cmap and indeed the county that The Premier men can retain the title and it would certainly be another big boost to a county which has been starved of success this year.
