Tipperary’s Jackie Cahill has confirmed that the Minister for Justice, Simon Harris, has agreed to his request to meet with the We Just Want To Swim campaign in relation to ongoing community access issues to the Garda College swimming pool in Templemore.
“I am pleased that Minister Harris has agreed to my request to meet with Deirdre Ryan of the We Just Want To Swim campaign in person to discuss the ongoing issues in relation to community access to the pool," he said following Minister Harris's attendance at a Garda passing out parade in Templemore last Friday.
“Following on from our meeting with the then Taoiseach, Micheál Martin in relation to this issue late last year, I am hopeful that the Minister’s intervention in this issue will result in some positive, common sense solutions," said Deputy Cahill.
The Thurles-based TD said that he was looking forward to this meeting in the very near future.
