The Cahir Development Association has been busy since the Christmas break and the Burial Ground Maintenance Grant 2023 applications for the upkeep of the three graveyards found within the vicinity of Cahir have been completed. These grants allow for the upkeep of the Cahir Abbey Burial Ground, Old Church Street Graveyard, and St Mary’s Cemetery.
The importance of grants like this cannot be understated: they enable us to keep the burial grounds in an orderly condition and keep them accessible to the public.
Christmas Lights - The Christmas Lights have been taken down and stored away safely and ready for Christmas 2023. The Association would like to thank everyone for their donations and sponsoring of the Christmas Lights for 2022.
St. Patrick’s Day - Preparations are already underway for this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade. The theme for this year’s fancy dress is ‘Biodiversity’. The Cup has now been returned and cleaned, ready for this year’s winner. So now is the time to start planning!
New Students for the year 2023 - The Association is delighted to welcome the new students in the building for the 2023 Business Administration course. The course started last week at The Enterprise Centre and all places are filled. We would like to wish all our new students the best of luck as they embark on this 21-week course.
Grants & Schemes - in the second month of 2023, we have been busy getting ready for the year ahead. This includes the completion and submission of applications for schemes and funds for all forthcoming projects for 2023. We have recently completed the application for the Community Support Fund. This scheme allows for the attainment of new equipment for Tidy Towns.
Applications for the SuperValu Tidy Towns Grant 2023 and the application for the Tipperary Festivals and Events Grant Scheme 2023 specifically for St Patrick’s Day, Funday Sunday and the Christmas retail weekend have been completed also.
New Outdoor Gym Equipment - the Association is delighted to have been successful with the grant application for the new Gym equipment and great thanks must go to the Tipperary County Council for the grant received and to Cahir Tidy Towns for their vision in putting forward this project. The new outdoor gym equipment has been recently installed down the Swiss Walk, which will be open for public use very soon. This equipment is for all ages and is disability friendly.
