Dylan Slevin will learn from his experience on Saturday night
Dylan Slevin gave his all and will learn from a close finish at the Dutch Darts Championship on Saturday night.
So near and yet so far was the story for the Borrisokane man who was in action against Dirk Van Duijvenbode in the second round of the championship. The Dutchman is currently rated just outside the top ten in the world and is one of the top performers on his home turf. After a titanic struggle, in a match that swayed both ways, the local lad won out 6-5 in the end.
The 20-year-old Tipperary native had his chances in the match and just missed out on honours over 13 legs. Van Duijvenbode pipped Slevin just at the finale much to the delight of the locals. No doubt the up and coming Tipp star will learn from the defeat and bounce back stronger for the experience.
