New pitch opening heralds a new era for Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA

Gortnahoe Glengoole will open their new field on May 14th

Next Sunday the 14th of May will be a special day in the parish of Gortnahoe Glengoole. A thriving sports club, the parish GAA history begins a new era as the official opening of Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA's new pitch takes place that day.

The proceedings will start with the official blessing of the pitch by Fr. Jimmy O'Donnell at 12.30pm. The official opening of the pitch will be performed by the chairman of Tipperary GAA Mr. Joe Kennedy.

The official opening will be followed by a parade of teams which includes the juvenile and camogie club in the parish and all those togged out will be led by the famous Moycarkey Pipe Band who add so much life and colour on big match days. After all the pagentry, the flagship adult team take the field for the Premier Intermediate match between Gortnahoe Glengoole and Killenaule which is set for a start time of 1pm.

The club are inviting those from near and far to go along and celebrate on the day with them. All are welcome to go along to support on the day. Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA club are to be congratulated for the huge development that has taken place in their grounds over the last number of years. A huge effort goes into all activities on and off the field and the club has been a fulcrum of parish life for many years.

This development included a new pitch, a new walkway, an astroturf, a ballwall and a new car park. The grounds also includes a playground. All ages will benefit fronm the development which will enhance the community. Much praise has to go to the officers of the club down through the years also the Development Committee as well as all the supporters that have given their time to bring this project to where it is today. What a wonderful facility to have in the Parish. Congrats to all involved.
