The Fianna Fáil TD Jackie Cahill has confirmed that the CBS Secondary School in Thurles has been approved for a major new development.
The school is to get two new special education classrooms, a new Engineering room and four new general classrooms.
“I am delighted to confirm that we have made considerable progress in securing a brand-new extension to the CBS Secondary School in Thurles.
“The two new special education classrooms, Engineering room and four general classrooms will provide badly needed space for the staff and student body in the CBS, and will see the provision of top-class teaching facilities in the school for many years to come.
“I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the school principal, Tiernan O’Donnell on this project, as well as the school’s Board of Management. I would also like to thank Minister Norma Foley and her staff for working closely with Tiernan and I on this development over an extended period of time,” said Mr Cahill.
