President Michael D. Higgins to attend funerals of four victims of Clonmel car accident

President Michael D. Higgins will attend the funerals of the four young people who died tragically in a car accident in Clonmel last Friday.

Áras an Uactharáin confirmed the president will be attending the funeral of 18-year-old Nicole Murphy, which takes place at St John The Baptist Church in Kilcash at 12 noon today (Thursday) with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

And he will also be attending the funerals of 24-year-old Luke and 18-year-old Grace McSweeney from Clonmel and 18-year-old Zoey Coffey from Kilsheelan.

The second day of the wake for brother and sister Luke and Grace McSweeney takes place at their family home on the Mountain Road in Clonmel from 3pm to 8.30pm today (Thursday).

Their Requiem Mass takes place at SS Peter & Paul's Church in Clonmel at 11.30am tomorrow (Friday) with burial afterwards in St Patrick's Cemetery in Clonmel

The remains of Zoey Coffey will repose at O'Donoghue's Funeral Home, Kickham Street, Clonmel tomorrow (Friday), September 1 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Her funeral Mass will take place in SS Peter & Paul's Church in Clonmel on Saturday, September 2 at 11.30am.
