Tipperary County Council has refused planning permission to eir for the erection of a 15m telecommunications mast in the heart of New Inn village.

The council reached its decision on Wednesday, March 6. Eir have a month from that date to lodge an appeal to An Bord Pleanála.

This is the second eir planning application seeking approval to locate a 15m mast at the eir Exchange site at Graigue, New Inn Tipperary County Council has refused.

There was a lot of public opposition to both planning applications. The Council received 34 submissions from local residents, New Inn's two primary schools, New Inn Tidy Towns Committee and local politicians to the latest application during the public consultation phase.
