To mark the arrival of strawberry season, Bord Bia have announced that the delicious berry is the nation’s favourite fruit, with strawberries coming out on top when it comes to the value of the Irish fruit market . This news has been met with delight by the network of local growers across the country, who are welcoming their first harvest of the season including Cornelius Traas from Cahir.
Growing Season
Strawberries are tastiest when they are in season from May to October in Ireland. Bord Bia Quality-Assured strawberries are grown by a network of Irish strawberry growers and are widely available to purchase in supermarkets nationwide throughout the growing season. 1. Store in the fridge
2. Do not remove the stalks until you are ready to use
