A talented songwriter based in Tipperary has made a public appeal for information after her beloved instrument was stolen following her set at Electric Picnic.
Sarah Szucs, a Dungarvan native now based in Cloughjordan, Co Tipperary, revealed in a post on social media this week that following her stellar performance at the Global Green tent in Stradbally over the weekend, her guitar was stolen from her tent in the Global Green crew campsite.
"Sad to say that after a near-perfect weekend at Electric Picnic my beautiful Yamaha LL-11 was stolen from my tent," Sarah said in the online post.
Sarah revealed that in the course of the theft, her tent was ripped open and the guitar was taken from its case.

"I know it’s a very long shot but this guitar had enormous sentimental value and is irreplaceable to me so I’m doing everything in my power to track it down. It’s been with me since my first originals gig two years ago and I feel like I’ve come home without a limb," Sarah said.
"I’m also now without a giggable guitar- I’d really appreciate if you could share this far and wide in case it does turn up somewhere".
The guitar is a distinctive 90’s Yamaha LL-11, unique for the L’s on its headstock. The headstock on Sarah's guitar also has some minor dents and scratches, and minor damage on the bottom corner.
At the time it was stolen, it had a red and black strap attached and the loose strings at the top were looped.
The guitar was taken between 9pm and 11pm on Sunday night, with Sarah reckoning it was close to 10:30pm "but hard to know for sure".
"A number of other tents were rifled through, a purse was stolen and cash from a few others," Sarah revealed.
"We suspect that they came/went through the back of Greencrafts toward Boutique camping, close to Little Picnic. If anyone was at Electric Picnic on Sunday night and noticed someone carrying a loose guitar please let me know as there may be CCTV footage available".
