Walk in aid of childhood cancer set to take place in local Tipperary town

Roscrea Lions Club, in collaboration with Cistercian College Roscrea, have announced that they will hold a Charity Walk on the grounds of the College on Saturday, September 7, at 6:30pm.

The "Light It Up Gold" walk is in recognition of, and in support of, Childhood Cancer Ireland, and marks Childhood Cancer Awareness month, which runs throughout September.

Lions Clubs of Ireland have recently launched a new partnership with Childhood Cancer Ireland to support the hundreds of families affected by childhood cancer around the country.

Childhood Cancer Ireland is the national parent and survivor-led childhood cancer charity representing the voice of children, adolescents and young adults with cancer, survivors and their families.

They aim to ease the burden of diagnosis and treatment by raising funds to provide practical and emotional supports for families and survivors.

The walk will begin from the Grotto in Cistercian College at 6:30pm sharp, and all are welcome and encouraged to take part.

They sincerely thank Fr Malachy, President Colm Maloney, and the staff and students of Cistercian College, for their support in hosting the walk within the grounds, and for providing light refreshments after.
