Major issues with water supply in several Tipperary areas says Uisce Éireann

Uisce Éireann says it is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses following an operational issue at Ardfinnan Water Treatment Plant.

As a result, the water supply to Ardfinnan and surrounding areas is impacted, and customers may experience low pressure.

Normal supply is expected to be restored by 9pm this evening, they say.

The areas affected include Goatenbridge, Ardfinnan, Newcastle, Graigue GWS, Grange, Knocklofty, Barne, Marifield, Rathkeevin, Newchapel, Loughloher, Cranna, Kilcommon, Ballyea, Magherareagh, Castlegrace and the surrounding areas.

Crews are on the ground working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers.

Colin Cunningham, Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann said: "We understand the inconvenience this issue is causing and are working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
