Congratulations to the winners!

Two Tipperary National Lottery players take home €50,000 prizes

The National Lottery’s winners' room was buzzing as five groups of winners collected their prizes at Lottery HQ on 1 Georges Quay after the bank holiday weekend.

Taking home a cheque worth €50,000 was a Tipperary man, who won big on a Mega Money Multiplier scratch card, purchased in Mace-Texaco, Cashel.

“I bought three cards, and I couldn’t believe that I'd won €50,000 in one of them – I like scratch cards but the most I've ever won before was €100. I rang my mother straight away, she didn’t believe me, she thought I was joking”, he laughed.

The winner shared that he’s been keeping the winning ticket hidden in his clothes, for fear he would lose it before making his trip to Lottery HQ to cash it in.

He’s hoping to put his winnings towards purchasing a home in the future.

A fellow Tipperary player from Roscrea also won an impressive €50,000 on a Cash Grid scratch card purchased at the Carrig Road service station, securing the top prize on the card.

“I play Telly Bingo with my mam almost every week, and I just decided to pick up a scratch card with some cash I had leftover. When I got home, we sat at the table and scratched it, when we realised what I had won, the two of us were in utter disbelief!”

When asked how she plans on spending her handsome windfall, she said “My car just failed it’s NCT for its second time, it’s on the way out! It’ll definitely go towards a replacement, and with Christmas on the horizon, I’ll be sure to spoil my family”.

Meanwhile, tonight’s Lotto Jackpot rolls towards an estimated €4.8 Million.

Players are reminded that tickets for tonight’s draw can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at http://www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7:45pm cut-off time for sales this evening.
