The company has confirmed that 3,374 premises in and around Littleton, Thurles and Holycross are now ready for connection. The rollout forms part of the National Broadband Plan, the government’s flagship project to bring reliable high-speed internet to areas that would not otherwise receive it from commercial providers.

To date, NBI has invested €118 million in building fixed-line broadband infrastructure for 31,000 homes and businesses across the Premier County. The project marks one of the largest technological upgrades to rural Tipperary in recent years.

Sandra Dinan, spokesperson for NBI, said progress in the county has been strong. “We’re making great progress in County Tipperary under the National Broadband Plan. Today almost 2,400 Tipperary premises near Thurles can now order high-speed fiber broadband on the NBI network.

Across the County, over 30,100 premises can avail of NBI’s fiber broadband, and we’re encouraging Tipperary residents to check if they can connect at nbi.ie,” she said.

Residents and businesses are being encouraged to visit nbi.ie to see if their premises are eligible for connection.
