North Tipperary will welcome a new cultural highlight in February as the Resonance Festival returns for its fourth edition. The community-led, not-for-profit event, which has previously been held in September, will take place across Ballina and Killaloe from the 11th to the 13th of February.

Resonance aims to bring together world-class speakers, authors, performers, and audiences for two days of workshops, talks, and live events.

Organisers describe the festival as an opportunity for visitors to leave with "your head full of new thoughts and your heart full of wonder and joy."

The festival caters to a broad range of interests. Intellectual explorers can expect thought-provoking discussions on technology and creativity, while cultural enthusiasts will be drawn to the line-up of musicians, authors, and performers.

Sustainability advocates will find eco-conscious initiatives and nature-focused activities, and curious minds can engage with fresh ideas and perspectives. Resonance also attracts those seeking connection, offering a space for meaningful conversations, career development, and personal growth.

Ballina and Killaloe have long been a meeting point for people, a tradition the festival seeks to build on. Organisers say the event continues the towns’ historic role as a place for human connection and dialogue.

Next month’s line-up includes economist David McWilliams, Olympian David Gillick, former RTÉ journalist Cathy Halloran, Avril Stanley, co-founder of Body & Soul, and New York Times bestselling author Monica Parker. The headline musical concert will feature Gemma Hayes on Thursday 12th February.

Resonance Festival promises to be a distinctive addition to North Tipperary’s cultural calendar, combining ideas, music, and conversation in a setting steeped in history on the shores of Lough Derg.
