Tipperary enjoyed a notable success at the All-Ireland Scór na nÓg final in Killarney, where Newcastle dancers secured a fifth consecutive Rince Foirne title, an unprecedented achievement at this grade.

The dancers, trained by Kathy McGrath of the McGrath School of Irish Dance, delivered a performance that underlined both technical excellence and collective discipline.

Their victory marked a historic milestone for the club and the county, building on a sequence of wins that began in 2020 and has now reached five in a row.

The achievement was widely celebrated across Tipperary’s Scór community. Tributes were paid not only to the current panel of dancers but also to those who contributed to earlier titles, all of whom were recognised as part of a sustained collective effort.

Supporters highlighted the role of teamwork, preparation and commitment in bringing the latest success to fruition.

Other Tipperary competitors were also acknowledged on the day. Lucy Daly represented the county, while Templederry’s Novelty and Music group and Moyne Templetuohy’s quiz team competed strongly.

Although they did not secure titles, their performances were praised as a reflection of the depth of engagement with Scór across the county.

Behind the scenes, organisers and supporters were thanked for their contribution to the event.

Particular recognition was given to Treasa McGrath, who served as Bean an Tí at the All-Ireland final, and to Sinéad Grant, who performed Amhrán na bhFiann. Both were commended for representing Newcastle with distinction on a national stage.

Newcastle GAA also extended congratulations to the dancers and their coach, naming Sophie Fenton, Kate Walsh, Anna Walsh, Cara Cullinan, Bronagh Kennedy, Avril Langton, Jessica Davis and Anna English as part of the title-winning group.

The club noted the scale of the achievement for both Kathy McGrath and the McGrath School of Irish Dance, as well as the broader support provided by Scór Thiobraid Árann and Scór na Mumhan in the lead-up to the final.

The result capped a day that reinforced the central place of Scór within the county’s cultural life, with clubs once again committing time and energy to competition at the highest level.
