'Another Session' of evening music at the Mill of Fancroft, for local causes

'Mill' fundraiser for Roscrea Hospice & SVP

After the success of “A Session at the Mill” in March 2015, St Vincent de Paul and Roscrea Hospice are joining forces for a combined fundraiser this year.

The beautiful 19th century Mill at Fancroft is once again the setting for an intimate evening in the round on March 16th.

The upstairs room in the mill is the venue for “Another Session at the Mill”.

The lantern lit room seats 80 people and Roscrea Hospice and St Vincent de Paul together with Marcus and Irene Sweeney are organising an evening of music with MC Tom Stapleton.

With a host of local artists including Anthony Bourke, Bill Smith, Emma Kennedy, Conal Hanamy, Denis Kinsella, David Kinsella, Luke Maher, Sean Ryan, The Winters Passing, Triona Walsh, Muireann Dwyer, Fiona Baldwin and more this promises to be a unique evening. The venue provides supervised parking. Car pooling is encouraged.

Complimentary refreshments will be served during the interval. A raffle for spot prizes will take place during the show. Tickets at €10 each go on sale from Monday February 14th. Gates open at 7.30pm with music at 8pm. One hundred per cent of the funds raised will be divided equally between Roscrea Hospice and St Vincent de Paul. Early booking is essential and tickets can ONLY be booked through Irene or Marcus at 0505 31484 or by email at

The Mill at Fancroft was lovingly restored in 2006 by Marcus and Irene. This has resulted in the rescue from dereliction of a complex which is of noted industrial heritage importance. A set of new mill stones were installed in 2010, and milling capability is now restored for domestic uses.
