Ursuline girls aim for Enterprise glory

Finding a practical solution to one of the many problems faced by busy students may be the winning ticket for a budding group of entrepreneur's from the Ursuline Secondary School at this week's County Enterprise Awards in LIT Thurles.

Transition year pupils Kate Hogan, Zoe Fitzgibbon, Sophie Hayes, Lauren McCarthy and Emma Harkin are hoping to impress the judges later this week when they present their project Binder Buddies to an expert panel of judges at the annual student competition.

After one too many binder folders buckled under the weight of carrying their notes, the innovative bunch of students developed a clever ring cover to keep folders intact and so 'Binder Buddies' was born.

The binder cover retails for €1 for a pack of two and is already available in Stakelum's.

TheBinder Buddies team also trialed their product at a Christmas market held in their school last year receiving a phenomenal reaction from fellow students and staff selling over 120 packs on the day.
