The Roscrea Wellbeing Group launched the first of a series of postcards on Tuesday March 9th last, to highlight events scheduled and services available over the coming six months that promote wellness in the community.
The postcard, sponsored by the Roscrea Lions Club, with the caption ‘the power of moving on’ was initiated by the Wellbeing Group with the aim of reminding people in the community of the range of events and services available locally that promote wellness through engagement and participation. In launching the postcard, Fr. Lorcan Kenny, Co-Facilitator of the Group, spoke of the importance of highlighting the positives to be found in the locality and of inviting and encouraging people to access services and actively engage at local level as a means of maintaining health and wellbeing.
The postcard is being circulated through local services where there is a high degree of contact with the general public.
The Roscrea Wellbeing Group is made up of representation from Roscrea Stands Up, Pieta House, North Tipperary LEADER Partnership, Roscrea Primary Care Team, Roscrea Lions Club, Console, HSE, An Garda Siochana and the Roscrea Education Centre. In fact it was a student of the Roscrea Education Centre, Jasmine Ffitch who designed the card. It is anticipated that a similar card will be published in the second half of 2016.
