Meet the World's new top Beauty Queen! Beautiful Portroe girl Niamh Kennedy is set to take on the countries most beautiful girls in this year's Miss Ireland Pageant.

The 21 year old will be flying the flag for Tipperary and Aherlow House Hotel after blowing away the competition to win the contest held in the heart of Tipperary at the beautiful Aherlow House Hotel on Saturday the 21st of May.

Niamh has become the fourth winner of the heat which is being organised by Esme Mansergh Wallace who is a former Miss Tipperary and former Miss Sunday World.

Niamh wowed a panel of five expert Judges including former Miss Limerick Universe and top model with the Catwalk Models- Kellie Mc Grath, her sister Audrey Mc Grath, also with Catwalk Models, Miss Tipperary 2014 and model with Lockdown Models- Linda Creedon, Miss Tipperary 2015 and model with Assets Agency Lauren Browne and Managing Director of Plus Size Model Management Kate Sullivan Vogelaar. First runner up on the night which was hosted by one of the Patrollers from RedFm, Amy Barry, was Bansha girl Chloe Maher while second runner up went to bubbly Cork native Sinead Connery. There was also prizes for “Best Dressed,” “Miss Photogenic” and “Miss Congeniality” which were awarded to Rachel McCormack, Amy Barrett and Denise Ryan.

“The standard of girls this year has been amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of girls to work with”, said organiser Esme.

“The judges had such a hard time narrowing it down but I am so delighted with the way everything went and I can’t wait to see how Niamh gets on in the final.”

Make up on the night was kindly provided by Theresa Bradbury of “Coco Rouge,” Kelly McCormack, Emily Dunne and Shauna from “Purple Velvet Make Up.” A huge thank you to these very talented ladies who spent the whole afternoon getting all 15 contestants ready for the night. See page 22 for more.
