Nenagh cafe and bookstore Steeples and More marked its first anniversary with the unveiling of a peace garden to the rear of the premises.
The celebration was further marked with a unique unveiling of angels that once adorned the walls of the Dominican Convent in Taylor's Hill, Galway by Sr Alberta Lally. The now fully restored angels take pride of place in the peace garden.
The birthday celebrations also included music by local musicians as well as a BBQ served up by the staff.
Since opening in June 2015 Steeples with its unique café, book store and The Belfry upstairs has made itself a real feature of Nenagh town centre. With book launches, readings, children’s educational sessions, signings, live music, yoga, history talks and a great selection of vegetarian food and delicious cakes and treats there is a huge amount happening all the time.
“I was delighted to welcome everyone. Hopefully we will have many more to come. Now the peace garden is officially open we have a beautiful, serene outside area for everyone to come and enjoy during the summer. It’s a unique space. We are the only café in Nenagh with this type of garden,” said Mr Duggan.
Steeple’s ethos is founded on focusing on a healthy, mind, body and spirit. The bookstore will nourish your soul and the café focuses mainly on locally sourced vegetarian food.
